Kurt Mangels founded Golden State Reporting & Video in 1996 with a clear vision: to provide high-quality, technology-driven litigation support services with a strong emphasis on client care. His career in the legal field began in 1989 as an independent process server, where he quickly recognized the industry's need for more efficient, reliable support. After earning his California Certified Shorthand Reporter license in 1993, Kurt saw the increasing importance of integrating technology into the legal process. This insight led him to combine his court reporting expertise with emerging litigation tools—laying the groundwork for what would become Golden State’s unique approach.
As President and CEO, Kurt has guided the company’s growth and direction for nearly three decades. He is the only court reporter in the region who also works as a legal videographer, offering clients a rare and valuable dual skill set. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, Kurt leads the company’s sales and marketing strategies and plays an active role in managing its IT infrastructure. His leadership, innovation, and commitment to client service continue to drive Golden State Reporting & Video’s reputation as a trusted partner in the legal community.
